NHS Treatment & Charges

Some NHS patients are entitled to either full or partial exemption.
If you are:
- under 18 yrs old
- aged 18 and in full time eduction
- an expectant mother
- a mother with a child under the age of one year
- receiving Income Support / Jobseekers Allowance / Pension Credit
- have a valid NHS tax exemption certificate
or are named on an HC2/3 certificate, you could be entitled to support for the cost of your dental care. If you are unsure please feel free to ask at the reception.
At present charges are worked out according to the band of treatment you receieve. There are currently three bands, 1, 2 and 3.
| BAND 1 | This includes an examination, diagnosis and preventative care. If necessary it will include x-rays, scale and polish and planning for further treatment. Urgent and out of hours care will also be charged at £12. | £12 |
| BAND 2 | This includes all necessary treatment covered by the band 1 £12.00 charge PLUS additional treatment such as fillings, root canal treatment or extractions. | £39 |
| BAND 3 | This includes all necessary treatment covered by the band 1 £12.00 charge and band 2 £39.00 charge PLUS additional treatment such as crowns, dentures, inlays and bridges. | £177 |
